Artist Statement

I am an artist residing in New York City.  Raised in New England with a background in traditional / functional wheel thrown ceramics I began incorporating glass and light into my work while studying at NYSCC in Alfred, NY.

Either working in my studio with controlled environments I create using clay, and other materials, or out in the landscape creating light sculptures in existing environments.  My concern is with how light can alter a space and hence affect our mood and how we interpret that space.

“Light determines how we interpret our world, our every

mood is affected by Light.”

“Light is a flexible medium, I can create any form or feeling by

controlling light’s intensity, form, and color.”
